As an alternative to ground beef, I choose lower fat and cholesterol with ground turkey and get delicious results!
Serve with Marinara and Spaghetti Squash for a filling, yet healthier version than pasta spaghetti. Makes 14 meatballs.
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound lean ground turkey
2 Tbsp bbq sauce
1 tsp dijon mustard
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 egg white
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
3 -4 cloves of minced garlic
1 tsp crushed, dry basil
1 tsp crushed, dry oregano
A few grinds of the pepper mill
DIRECTIONS:
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
They should easily roll into the size of a
1 inch ball between the palms of your hands. If it feels too sticky, sprinkle no more than 1/4 Cup of additional bread crumbs.
Place in a covered glass casserole dish (about 10x10) and microwave for 4 minutes on high. Stop & flip meatballs
over and cook an additional 4 minutes.
Place in a pot of your favorite marinara sauce and allow to simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, so that all the flavors in the sauce and the meatballs mingle together.
