Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts

Writer's picture: Judy HaskellJudy Haskell

The right amount of tenderness with an added level of browned crispiness, makes these brussels sprouts a nutricious treat and side dish.

INGREDIENTS:

1 lb brussel sprouts

1 yellow onion, sliced

2-3 Tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp garlic & herb "Mrs. Dash"

1/4 tsp salt

5 grinds of the pepper mill

DIRECTIONS:

First blanch the trimmed sprouts (stems cut off and discarded)

in salted boiling water until a bright green. Depending on their size, this can vary from 2 minutes for small ones and up to 5 minutes for larger ones. Drain and rinse in cold water.

Cut the sprouts in half.

In a large bowl, mix the sprouts with the onions, olive oil and seasonings.

Preheat your air fryer for 5 minutes at 365°.

Add the brussels sprouts mixture to your air fryer basket and fry, stirring or shaking every 4 minutes, for the next 13-15 minutes.* Done. Season to taste, if needed. Enjoy!

* Some air fryers differ depending on size.
